13.2.1 Some preposition that require the Akkusativ |
preposition |
without for against |
|||
Erika does nothing | preposition | personal pronoun | definite article | indefinite article
Erika macht nichts | ohne | mich | den Mann | einen Mann
für | dich | die Männer | einige Männer
gegen | ihn | die Frau | eine Frau
sie | die Frauen | einige Frauen
uns | das Kind | ein Kind | |||
euch | die Kinder | einige Kinder
sie | |||||
As you can see the object that follows the preposition
has to be declined according to the Accusative -declination
no matter whether it is a noun, a pronoun or (and we
will see later an adjective). More details on prepositions
you'll find in chapter 19
- more prepositions.
Erika
macht nichts ohne ihn. = Erika

Erika macht
nichts für das Kind. = Erika does nothing for the child.

These few examples just show the principle. All the

way. We'll see more of them later.
